The Electromagnetic Field Theory Exercises Book ProjectWelcome to the World-WIde Web site for the exercises book of the electrodynamics Internet textbook project! This is a companion volume to the new, modern, on-line textbook Electromagnetic Field Theory. Our goal is to, eventually, to establish a comprehensive (and correct!) Internet resource with solved problems in advanced Classical Electrodynamics. Currently, The Electromagnetic Field Theory Exercises is, at best, an embryonic approximation of an "alpha version" of such a resource. Download HereThe current VERY PRELIMINARY and VERY BUGGY draft version was uploaded Wednesday, 15-Nov-2000 20:39:36 MET. Download it here (caveat emptor!):
Formats and FeedbackElectromagnetic Field Theory Exercises is being typeset in LaTeX2e and may, in addition to TeX DVI, PS, and Adobe PDF, be provided also in PCL (HP Printer Command Language) format so that it may even be printed directly on any simple, inexpensive non-PostScript HP LaserJet, PaintJet or DeskJet printer. I am prepared to add other formats which have output routines that can be used for free and can produce hardcopies of the same high quality as PostScript, PDF and PCL. Recommendations are welcome. Obviously, MS Word does not qualify (it costs money and cannot fully reproduce the fine TeX typography which is so essential for the correct interpretation of mathematical text). Any suggestions regarding either the contents or the form of the book are welcome - and expected from you. Remember that this is intended to be a book that should be able to serve as a general Internet resource and be of such a quality and scope that it can be used in higher university education anywhere. It is the author's hope that this freely available textbook will be particularly useful for students and researchers working under financial or other circumstances that make it difficult to procure a book of this kind. Mail your comments on the book and the project to me at bt@irfu.se.
